Milling & Engraving
HSC milling and CNC engraving
One of our core competences is milling and engraving. Since this is a very central area of our work, we at LES GRAVEURS rely on the most modern techniques and machining capabilities. Therefore, CNC machines are used for the machining of workpieces and materials. This represents a very advanced machining method and is characterized by some advantages over traditional methods, especially their particularly precise work. Therefore, the use of CNC machines in the field of workpiece machining has become increasingly important in recent years.
With the help of CNC machines, we are able to machine surfaces with the highest precision and produce perfect cutting edges, with countless and wide-ranging applications.
Useage of CNC milling machines
The five-axis, computer-controlled CNC milling machines are used for chip-removing machining of various materials, whereby our focus is particularly on plastic, aluminum and brass. This machining process is carried out with a milling tool, which, unlike other tools, does not turn but rotates the workpiece while it is firmly clamped.
The first step in the milling process is to create a digital design of the desired product. Then the file is uploaded to the computer and a block of material is inserted into the milling machine. With the help of the milling tool, the block is automatically machined according to the design.
A great advantage of using CNC milling machines is that the machines perform their work independently, so there is no need for constant supervision. The CNC control offers a wide range of possibilities, which can integrate a complete manufacturing process.

The CNC milling engraving
Milling engraving by CNC machines uses three-axis CNC machines, which are also automatically controlled by software. The machine consists of a movable work surface and a milling motor, which is also movable.
First, your selected workpiece is clamped. Then the surface is approached while a program is created that contains exactly this surface. With the help of this program, the paths to be followed by the individual cutters are calculated by the computer. This process creates a template that is used for the subsequent engraving. The CNC machine then engraves the workpiece automatically.
One advantage of milling engraving is that even large surfaces can be processed very precisely and even larger quantities can be produced easily.

FAQ – Milling & Engraving
What is HSC technology and what are its advantages?
HSC technology (High-Speed Cutting) allows for the precise machining of workpieces. It uses CNC machines to quickly and accurately mill and engrave materials such as plastic, aluminum, brass, and steel. This technology offers greater accuracy and surface quality compared to conventional machining methods and is especially useful for complex geometries and freeform shapes.
What materials can be processed with CNC machines?
Our CNC milling machines can process a wide range of materials, including aluminum, brass, plastic, steel, foam, PUR-based materials, and wood. The choice of material depends on the specific project and the requirements of the final product. By using CNC technology, we can precisely and efficiently work with both soft and hard materials.
What is CNC milling engraving and how does it work?
CNC milling engraving is a process where precise engravings are made into workpieces using a three-axis CNC machine. After the workpiece is clamped, a program is created that defines the engraving paths. The CNC machine then automatically follows the predefined paths and performs the engraving. This process is used for precise and uniform engravings on a variety of materials.
What services do you offer in CNC milling and engraving?
We offer a wide range of CNC milling and engraving services, including the production of milled parts from aluminum, brass, plastic, steel, and wood, as well as the creation of freeform shapes for design and product design. Additionally, we manufacture industrial prototypes, foundry models, and molds, as well as series parts and laminating or blow molds. Our CNC machining is also suitable for model making and various other applications.
How does a CNC milling project start?
A CNC milling project begins with the creation of a digital design of the desired product. This design is uploaded to the CNC machine, which then processes the material according to the specifications. The automated machining process results in precise workpieces that meet the highest quality and accuracy standards.
